Financial fundamentals to start a month of professional events

A three-day finance and business camp will be held in just a few days’ time at Be Money Smart USA, 4701 Whitney Avenue in Carmichael – only 20 minutes from West Sacramento.

Capacity is limited for this camp, so registering soon is recommended. Attendees will learn how to save and invest, personal finance, banking, and budgeting. The workshop will also stress how to avoid overusing credit.

To illustrate concepts, staff will employ the use of games, demonstrations, activities, and contests, as well as present a mock portfolio to an expert panel.

Students will leave with business cards, flyers and a business plan. Business card printing can be conveniently done with the use of a local printing company in time for the event, which runs August 7 – 9.

Also, the region’s most influential men and women will gather at 5:30 pm on Thursday, August 15, as part of Executive Insight 2013 at the Citizen Hotel, 926 J Street in Sacramento.

Guests can learn from the best what mistakes not to make, what it takes to be a success, and what constitutes a great leader. They will also discuss how to balance family and business life.

Executives will participate in an informal discussion with attendees as they move from table to table following a short panel introduction.

Taking place simultaneously on August 15 at 5:00 pm, the Holiday Inn, 300 J Street, Sacramento will host the Lean Construction Institute, which will teach attendees the importance of using production planning tools during the design stage. For more information on this one, call (877) 865-6578.
