Lobsterfest crawls ashore this August

July 22, 2012 by

It is highly anticipated that, in just a few more days, some residents of Orange County, Northern California, and Southern Nevada will all be present for the 4th Annual Lobsterfest at Newport Beach to eat till their hearts’ content, enjoy the fun and entertainment, and help raise money for some important charities. It all takes place on Saturday, August 11, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, at 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach, which is only 11 miles southwest of Tustin.

The annual event, which is hosted by Newport Dunes Water Front Resort and Marina, is only in its fourth year, but it has already evolved into a regional event, attracting people from a good distance away. This year, the entertainment will be the musical performances of a reggae group called ‘We The People’.

As usual, the fresh whole Maine Lobster will be flown in on the morning of the event and will be prepared on site. In addition to the whole lobster, general admissions tickets also cover the all-you-can-eat buffet items that include, clam, crab claws, shrimp, beef steak, red potatoes, corn on the cob, rolls, and brownies. For those with a different taste, food vendors will also be present and they may have some poster printing done to list prices at their 10’ x 10’ booths. Beer, wine, and mixed drinks will also be available for purchase.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Make a Wish Foundation and Leadership Tomorrow. Tickets may be purchased in advance, with general admission costing $55, which includes parking.
