Holiday baskets for needy families in Tustin

The Miracles for Kids organization is seeking donations of food items and gifts for its annual Basket of Miracles Program.

The Holiday Drive will be held from December 14 – 19. Volunteers are also needed to set up, assemble baskets, and deliver the baskets to needy families. This year, the organization hopes to help 160 Southern California families.

Needed items include meat, fruit, eggs, vegetables, bread, and dairy items. Setup will be held from on Thursday, December 13, assembly will take place on Friday and Saturday and the baskets will be delivered from December 17 – 19. On each day, the proceedings will take place from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm.

The Basket of Miracles in December is held throughout the year to help assist needy families during the holiday seasons, as well as in August before the start of school. The goal is to help ease some of the financial strain for needy families.

The mission of Miracles for Kids, based in Orange County, is to help children in Tustin and surrounding areas who have cancer and other life threatening illnesses, as well as their families and caregivers. In addition to baskets, it provides families with financial support, fund research in the search for a cure for pediatric cancer and other illnesses, and serves as advocates for ill children and their families as they undergo treatment.
