February 28, 2013 by

To start a musically-minded month in Torrance, California, vocalist Perla Batalla will perform at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center in about a week’s time.

Tickets are $32.50 general admission or $29.50 for season subscribers, and Batalla will appear on Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9. Performances begin at 7:30 pm. The cultural arts center is located at 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance. The box office is open 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday and noon to 4:00 pm Saturday.

A special dinner and show ticket is available, with dinner beginning at 6:30 pm at Daphne’s California Greek restaurant.

After that, ‘Dancing with the South Bay Stars’ returns for its second year as a fundraiser for non-profit organizations on Saturday, March 16, at 8:00 pm in the James Armstrong Theatre, 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance.

Nine South Bay stars will be paired with professional dancers in this competition. Audience members can vote for their favorite “star.” Each vote will be charged $1 with funds going to the dancer’s favorite non-profit organization. Votes will be combined with judges’ scores to determine a winner.

Non-profit recipients are the USO, Counseling4Kids, El Segundo Concert Band, Elwyn California, Pediatric Therapy Network, Torrance Education Foundation, International Foundation, and The South Bay Classic. Tickets are $77.50 for VIP seats and $52.50 for reserved seats. Business card printing by a local print company is a great way to stay in touch with business and non-profit organizations.
