Robin Hood on the Stockton screens

Film fans can arrow back in time this weekend as The Adventures of Robin Hood, an American Movie classic released in 1938 and starring Olivia de Havilland, Errol Flynn, Claude Rains, and Basil Rathbone, appears at the Bob Hope Theatre.

Poster printing and other printing services might have been used to advertise this movie to people in the city and in the surrounding regions.

The movie opens with Sir Robin of Locksley being the sworn defender of many downtrodden Saxons that have run afoul of the Norman authorities, therefore being forced to turn into outlaws. Robin forms a group called the ‘Merry Men’, and soon the group is taking from the wealthy and giving the loot to the needy.

While this going on, Robin Hood, still find the time to sweep the beautiful Maid Marian off her feet and to foil the ever wicked Sir Guy of Grisbourne, which keeps Prince John off his sought-after throne.

This movie was directed by William Keighley and Michael Curtiz and the film, was written by Seton I. Miller and Norman Reilly Raine. It carries a PG certificate due to some scenes of violence.
