Santa Rosa welcomes winter with wine

November 19, 2016 by

As the cold season gets started, Santa Rosa is preparing to celebrate with its Wine Country Winter Festival. The two-day event has food, drinks, crafts, entertainment, and more.

As expected, the wine tasting is at the heart of this festival. More than 60 different wineries, micro-breweries, and cider brewers will be on hand offering a sample of their winter selection. A ticket comes with some custom drinkware and six tastes. Visitors can also visit a booth to purchase drinks by the glass.

An arts and crafts fair will also be on hand for attendees looking for some holiday gifts. Vendors will set up booths selling everything from clothing and jewelry, to art and sculptures. Some local specialty food producers will also be selling everything from shortbread to granola, alongside traditional fair food.

The fest will also have a visit from Santa, live music, a short ballet from the Nutcracker Suite, face painting, cookie decorating, a little train, and more. Full calendars of all the entertainment are available online.

The Wine Country Winter Festival will be held on December 3 and 4 starting at 10:00 am each day at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, located at 1350 Bennett Valley Rd. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for minors age 12-18. There are additional costs for wine tastings and other activities. Anyone interested in more info should visit the website.
