Midsummer Garden Tea scheduled in Santa Rosa

July 5, 2012 by

The Luther Burbank Home and Gardens has scheduled the Midsummer Garden Tea for two dates in July. The first garden tea will be on Sunday, July 22 and the following event will be on July 29.

The site has the distinct honor of being recognized as a Horticultural Historic Landmark. Luther Burbank was a horticulturist, born in 1948, who became famous for his plant-breeding experiments. Upon his death, he was buried on the grounds of his estate. The estate is now a public entity with meeting space, a museum, a gift shop, and extensive gardens, along with the original Greek revival home on the property.

Daily tours are available, taking visitors through the home, which is complete with its original furnishings. The tours continue on to the Greenhouse, displaying the types of tools Burbank used in his scientific exploration of horticulture.

The Midsummer Garden Tea events are rather popular, with an afternoon tea served in the beautiful gardens onsite complete with live music at the Luther Burbank Home and Gardens facility. A “loveliest hat” contest is part of the event, along with a silent auction. Included in the ticket price for attending the tea is a free tour of the Burbank house.

Santa Rosa print companies are contracted to provide printing services such as flyer, poster, and stationery printing to help promote public awareness of this unique museum and its events.
