San Mateo to benefit from real estate success

Printing companies in San Mateo could soon find themselves with a number of fresh business card printing orders, after a rapidly growing commercial real estate company moves in to the area.

Avison Young, said to be the fastest growing firm of its kind in the world, will open its ninth Californian office in the city this month. It further underlines the aggressive stance the Canadian firm is taking, and highlights San Mateo’s increasing role in the modern corporate world.

Talking about the move, the company’s chief executive officer and chairman, Mark E. Rose, said:

“Opening an office in San Mateo is another strategic move for Avison Young to become a key player in the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay Area commercial real estate market.”

Already home to many Fortune 500 companies, including Oracle and Facebook, San Mateo and the wider Silicon Valley is fast underlining its role as one of the controlling areas of the world.

From handling the banners and flyers for trade exhibitions and launch events, to producing those glossy portfolios for shareholders, the region’s printing companies are just as useful as Visa, which is another notable San Mateo resident.

It has been a dramatic rise for Avison Young, which only opened its first North California office, in San Francisco, in April of last year. In just four years too, the number of offices at the firm has risen from 11 to 49, with a total of nearly 1,400 staff.
