It is not long now until the World Bodysurfing Championships are held in San Diego next to the Oceanside Pier, which is located about 35 miles north of downtown San Diego. Over the weekend of August 18 – 19, over 350 bodysurfers are expected to flock in from all over the world and compete for trophies and prizes.

August 18 kicks off the event with the Heats Competition beginning at 6:30 am. Each heat lasts 15 minutes and at least two contestants in every heat will move on to the next round. Competitors are permitted to use wetsuits and fins.

The Grand Champions for both men’s and women’s divisions will be recognized on the afternoon of August 19. The top winners will receive an expenses-paid trip for two on the Bud Light Port Paradise 3 Day Music Festival Cruise. The trip prize includes round-trip airfare from Los Angeles to Miami, along with one night in a Miami hotel. Airport transfers will be included.

Oceanside Pier has a long boardwalk stretching down the beach. At the end, there is a restaurant called Ruby’s Diner. This area truly is a beautiful and cultural area to visit. Long coastlines, surfers, people fishing, and unsurpassed views of La Jolla and Catalina Island provide interesting sights for visitors.

There are several sponsors involved in the production of the World Bodysurfing Championships event. Print companies may have a great opportunity to work with event organizers in providing printing services, including poster, banner, brochure and business card printing.

The World Bodysurfing Championships website has complete information on the event, including sponsorship opportunities, registration procedures and rules, and terms and conditions.
