Well-dressed dogs walk the runway to promote animal adoption

A fashion show scheduled to take place at the DoubleTree Hotel in Claremont, just west of Rancho Cucamonga, is billed for “well-dressed dogs and their best friends” and is being held to promote the rescue and adoption of unwanted animals. The show will feature rescued and adopted dogs dressed to the nines – the ca-nines, that is.

Helping Out Pets Everyday (HOPE) is sponsoring the ‘Walking the Runway’ fashion show, which also includes a luncheon in which guest can choose to dine upon Chicken Jerusalem with sautéed mushrooms, black olives, and artichoke hearts, or a delicious vegetarian dish. The money raised from the event will go to help promote awareness about discarded pets and unwanted animals, as well as animal adoption.

Margaret Coffman, founder and president of HOPE, asked:

“What better way to showcase our rescues than to have a fashion show for the dogs, but also to bring their best friends along for the show, too?”

Fundraising efforts and events such as the Walking the Runway doggy fashion show may choose to raise awareness about the cause within the community by drawing up a poster or flyer, printing it, and posting or distributing it throughout the area. Banner printers may also be used at such events to welcome guests.

The show will be held this Saturday, September 29, from 11:00 am until 2:30 pm at the hotel, which is located at 555 West Foothill Boulevard in Claremont. The 4-Paws Boutique and Pawsome Dogz will furnish the fabulous doggy fashions for the four-legged fashion models, while their best friends will be provided with fashions from Draper’s and Damons, as well as other retailers.
