Workshops to really speak volumes this month

Taking into account that the best speakers do so without notes and speak from their heart, Los Alamitos residents can learn how to do this at a class next week.

Developed by Pastor Jim Turrell, this class will free speakers from the necessity of having to have note cards or a written speech. He developed his technique over 20 years and was influenced by his experience as a jazz musician.

He said:

“As a music major in college and later an educator for 15 years, I never worried about losing my place or forgetting where I was, but when I became a minister I found myself relying on notes which took away the impact of my message.”

He is the author of ‘Instant Public Speaking from the Heart’ published in 1998. The class begins at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, September 18 and will be held at the National University located at 3390 Harbor Boulevard in Costa Mesa.

The class is designed for members of Toastmaster, sales professionals, and anyone who has to speak publically.

Public speaking lends itself to weddings and, on the same day, bridal businesses will want to attend the Orange County’s Best Bridal networking event at 6:30 pm.

This is an opportunity for businesses catering to the wedding industry to meet with other business owners and future brides. The event will take place on the luxury yacht Endeavor, 3131 Bristol Street in Costa Mesa. One excellent way to keep track of other business professionals in the wedding industry is with the use of business card printing.
