Los Alamitos gears up for big annual challenge

The 2013 Bank of America Challenge Championships will take place at the Los Alamitos Race Course in November. The race card includes a full list of popular quarter horse races.

Participation in the Bank of America Challenge race is based on the conditions for which the horse is most suited, such as ability and age. Applications and respective fees are submitted to the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) offices prior to the deadline for eligibility consideration.

Awards and prizes include a Montana Silversmiths belt buckle for the winning owners and a Lisa Perry bronze for the regional final. The winning jockey, as well as the trainer, will also receive the belt buckles.

Leading owners, breeders, jockeys, and trainers are eligible for customer awards determined by accumulated points for the final races. These will be presented at the Bank of America Challenge Championships.

The race course at Los Alamitos presents a lively atmosphere with scenic views of the Orange County skyline. The races attract thousands of visitors annually and the events are a crucial contributor the economic stability.
