Electric bikes wheel their way into the area

An electric bike shop has established its roots in Seal Beach, located approximately 7 miles southwest of Los Alamitos. The grand opening for Pedego Bikes Greater Long Beach was held on Saturday, February 9 at 1:00 pm.

The day included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a magic show, door prizes, and more. A sports watch was even given out as a gift to the first 50 individuals who elected to take an electric bike for a spin.

Grand opening day activities or other similar events might use banner printing as a way to announce the new business. Poster printing in the days before a new store opens is also commonly used to draw the public’s attention and announce special activities or promotions. At the grand opening event for Pedego Bikes, the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce was even on hand to help greet the newest member.

Owners Brian Ballard and Elizabeth Black are both avid Pedego Bike riders themselves, and Ballard has been handling public relations for the company over the last year or so. They were so impressed with Pedego bikes that they approached Don DiCostanzo, a co-founder, about the possibility of opening a store in the Los Alamitos area. This marks the eleventh Pedego store to open. Plans are to have 50 stores in operation by the end of the year.

Pedego Electric Bikes is located at 1065 Pacific Coast Highway. Riders are required to be at least 16 years old.
