Teachers may benefit from attending the workshop on Meaningful Observations in the Preschool Classroom (DRDP), which will be offered this weekend at the Fullerton School, 1401 West Avenue in Fullerton, just 25 minutes from Long Beach.

The workshop has been designed to assist teachers in implementing this program in their classroom. Teachers will learn how to observe and collect evidence, organize an observation system, and review the documentation.

The training is $100 per person and CEU units are available for an additional fee. There will be a one-hour lunch break and it begins at 10:30 am tomorrow, August 10.

A workshop on food supplements designed to ease the pain of aging will be offered from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, also tomorrow, at the Spectrum Athletic Club, 2250 Park Place in El Segundo.

The workshop will be led by dieticians Jean and Doc Peters of the Nourishing Wellness Medical Center. Participants will receive meal ideas and recipes, supplement information, and handouts. Admission is free, but reservations should be made in advance.

Finally, at 2:00 pm tomorrow, the Threads of Love clothing drive will be held at Shades of Afrika, 1001 E. Fourth Street in Long Beach.

Items donated will benefit the Long Beach Women’s Shelter. Those who attend will be entered to win raffle prizes and the event will feature back massages, food, drinks, mini makeovers, and swag bags. This is should also be a great opportunity to network, so digital business cards will probably come in useful.
