Downtown businesses deck the halls in Long Beach

Over three dozen businesses in the downtown Long Beach shopping district are decked out in their holiday best to welcome holiday shoppers and usher in the Christmas season. While these businesses have put on their finest holiday apparel for customers, it is also a part of the annual Festival of Lights promotion created by the Downtown Long Beach Associates.

As stores, boutiques, and other businesses in Long Beach’s downtown shopping area deck the halls and put on their finest decorations for customers, local printing companies might also expect to bring in a few extra orders for a variety of printing services. In addition to banner printing and poster printing used to decorate for the holiday season, business owners are also likely to need Christmas catalog printing and flyer printing to advertise special holiday promotions and sales.

The Festival of Lights, which runs through Christmas Eve, was created to design a festive holiday shopping atmosphere for residents, employees and visitors of the downtown area. It is also hoped that the welcoming and festive atmosphere will increase foot traffic in the area and encourage holiday gift shoppers to shop locally for Christmas gifts. Customers are also encouraged to vote for what they think is the best holiday display. Everyone who votes for their favorite display in the Festival of Lights will be entered in a drawing for a Downtown prize package of $100. The winner of the prize package will be announced in January’s ‘Downtown Scene’ – the DLBA’s newsletter.
