Workshop to give lowdown on blogging

July 11, 2012 by

Even during the summer months, the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce has gone the extra mile in making sure that members of the business community have a healthy mixture of networking and professional development opportunities in the coming weeks.

It all starts next week, on July 18, with a Chamber-hosted workshop going by the title of ‘Why Blog – and How to Leverage Social Media to Find More Readers.’ While most professionals are well aware of the difference that the Internet can make from a personal branding standpoint, establishing a dedicated readership is not necessarily easy. Whether updating a blog with the intention of getting more local recognition or aiming to find more clients on the global stage instead, cultivating a credible platform is an absolute must.

Over the course of this hour-and-a-half-long presentation, Robin S. Fox will be letting business owners and decision-makers in on all the latest tips and tricks to using social media to generate traffic to a blog. With full discussion going towards using Search Engine Optimization as well, the benefits of attending this one are twofold. Free for members of the Chamber and priced at $15 for guests, those who wish to be at the workshop will have to be at the Arts & Science Classroom of Lafayette Library & Learning Center early, with the talk starting at 8:00 am.

Speaking of situations where the printing services of local print companies are almost certainly going to be needed, ‘Coffee with the Mayor’ takes place on July 27. The networking potential alone makes this an event to consider.
