Rose Parade is coming to town

December 20, 2012 by

Just a short jaunt from La Palma is Pasadena and the Rose Parade on January 1, 2013.

This entertaining event not only looks good, it smells good too. Thousands of roses and other flowers will cover the dozens of floats in this 124th annual parade. This year’s theme is “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” and begins at 8:00 a.m. in downtown Pasadena.

After the parade, the floats will be on display for viewing. Tickets are $10 each with children under age 5 free. Viewing times are 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. January 1, 2013 and 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. January 2, 2013. Tickets sales will end at 3:00 p.m.

The floats will be parked along Washington and Sierra Madre Boulevards. Remember the camera as the floats will make a dramatic background for pictures.

Shuttle bus parking will be available from three different park and ride locations. Tickets for the shuttle are $3 round trip. Children age 5 and younger are free. Parking is available at Pasadena City College, 1570 E. Colorado Blvd.; Community Education Center, 3035 E. Foothill Blvd.; and Rose Bowl Stadium, 1001 Rose Bowl Drive (January 2 ONLY)

Brochures are available at the entrance to the float viewing area with a map of the floats. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes as the viewing area is 2.5 miles long and should take at least two hours to cover. Brochures printers make it easy to combine all pertinent information in one convenient source and brochures make memorable souvenirs.

Water will be available onsite and food vendors will have items for sale. No alcoholic drinks are permitted.
