Family fun alternatives to trick or treating for Halloween in Fremont

There are several family friendly events available in Fremont this Halloween season.

The Candle Lighters’ Ghost House offers nightly haunted house tours, games for kids and food. Tours of the house are $3 and game tickets are only 25 cents each. A special ‘Scarey’ tour will be held at 1:00 pm this Saturday, October 20, and a Kiddie costume party will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 27.

The Ghost House is located at Chadbourne Carriage House, 39169 Fremont Boulevard, Fremont and proceeds from the event are used for local nonprofit organizations. Opening hours vary on a day-to-day basis, so the best advice is to check Fremont’s Patch website for full details.

Other nearby kid-friendly events include the Pick of the Patch Pumpkins in San Jose and Sunnyvale. There are several locations from which to choose but each one offers a variety of pumpkins to purchase for carving and cooking, tours, bouncy houses and slides, items for carving and decorating pumpkins, and photo opportunities.

With three local locations in San Jose and one in Sunnyvale, Fremont residents should not have to travel too far to visit the location of their choice. Hours of operation are 9:30 am – 9:00 pm Sunday – Thursday and 9:30 am – 9:30 pm Friday – Saturday.

All kinds of Halloween craft ideas and notices about upcoming Halloween activities can be printed at a print company and copies given to local businesses and neighborhood kids, which may be a good way to promote these events.
