Haunted houses and ghosts swoop through October

October 11, 2012 by

A short jaunt from Escondido is San Diego, considered by some to be the ‘most haunted city in all of the west’. It would be no surprise to see flyer printing used to promote this eeriness at this appropriate time of year.

Visitors can discover the reason for this boast themselves with the Haunted San Diego Ghost Tour Adventure. This tour will take ghost adventurers on a trip to haunted mansions, hotels, and graveyards. Ghost hunters will be able to hear all about the lives of real people who made San Diego their home, as well as the sometimes horrifying ways they died there.

Tour times are 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm Thursdays – Mondays through October 29, 2012. The cost is $35 and reservations are required. The tour is recommended for ages 10 and up. The group meets for departure at the Best Western Hacienda Hotel, 4041 Harney Street. For more information, call (619) 255-6170.

If the ghost tour is not frightening enough, then the Haunted Hotel should do the trick, or the treat. It will be open through October 31 for all sorts of scariness from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Located in the Gaslamp District, this haunted house was named as one of the top 13 best haunts in America by Haunt World Magazine and was featured on the Travel Channel.

This frightening adventure is not recommended for children under age 10 and there are no refunds for children who don’t go through the haunted house. The cost is $15 – $27. The Haunted Hotel is located at 424 Market Street, San Diego.
