Comedians wanted for cackle-worthy competition

For those who fancy themselves as the joker of the pack, the 6th Annual Killer Laughs Competition will get underway this March, commencing a three-month journey up until the final, with the whole competition held at Bunjo’s Comedy Lounge at The Willow tree restaurant in Dublin.

Eight preliminary rounds will be held with 10 comics in each round. Each comedian will have five minutes to win over the judges. The four top comedians from each round advance to the quarter finals, where each comedian will have seven minutes to perform. The winners will advance to the semifinals where each will have eight minutes to perform, then the top three will win awards and cash prizes.

Preliminary rounds will take place March 7 – April 25. All shows will begin at 7:30 pm with doors opening at 7:00 pm Tickets for the preliminary rounds are $10 plus a minimum of two items.

Quarter finals are May 2 – 23 and admission is again $10. Semifinals are held May 30 – June 6 and the finals will be held June 13. Admission to the semifinals and finals is $12 with a two item minimum.

People who do not fancy playing the funnyman can instead enjoy the Niles Canyon Railway Train, offering a ride and dinner from 5:00 pm – 8:45 pm this Sunday, February 24. The train leaves from Sunol, which is approximately 17 minutes from Dublin.
