The Taste Of Home Cooking School comes to the Bakersfield Rabobank Theater next week.

Presented by Smart & Final, this event will feature almost 30 shopping, food, and home improvement booths. Doors will open at 3:30 pm and the cooking school will begin at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12.

Buying early can allow guests to get VIP tickets, which include a chance to meet Kristi Larson, a goodie bag of samples, a one-year subscription to Taste of Home, a cookbook set, and reserved seating. Tickets are priced at $15 – $35.

Another opportunity for promotional poster printing will come when Bakersfield residents get an opportunity to meet the Mythbusters in person at the ‘Mythbusters: Behind The Myths Tour’ at the same venue on Sunday, November 24.

This is a new live show that will feature Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the co-hosts of the Discovery series ‘Mythbusters’. The Emmy nominated show dispels commonly believed theories by using science to prove or disprove urban myths. The evening will treat audience members to a combination of video, audience participation, on-stage experiments, and stories from behind the scenes of the hit show.

The dynamic pair have appeared on several TV shows, and received the Young Artist Award for their inspiration of young people in the field of science. They are guest editors for Popular Mechanics and have been inducted into the Scientific Research Society, Sigma Xi, as honorary members.

The show begins at 7:00 pm at the Theater, 1001 Truxton Way in Bakersfield. Tickets are $32 – $127. For more information call, (800) 745-3000.
