Get ready for some barbecue

Residents of Orange County can now prepare their tastebuds for what some have deemed to be the best tasting barbecue in the world. The Orange County Barbecue Bonanza will take place on August 17-19, 2012.

The event, which has come to be known as the largest dancing, drinking, barbecue eating festival in the southern half of California, will take place at the Fountain Valley Sports Park, which is located at the intersection of Heil and Brookhurst, just 11 miles south of Anaheim.

The event will feature more than food; there will be stage performances, musical performances by nationally known artists and local artists, dancing, cantinas, and arts and crafts exhibits. Vendors and exhibitors can invest in business card printing, as an event of this magnitude is conducive to good networking. Their will also be a childrens’ area where kids can experience the thrill of the carnival rides and bounces and be intrigued by the story tellers and the magicians.

General admission to the event is free, but there will also be a VIP section in the festival for which tables that seat ten must be reserved at different prices. Those who purchase tickets for this specific area will get all you can eat ribs, sides, salad, desserts, and unlimited beverages.

As the barbecue will be judged, cooking teams will engage in a cook-off. The competitors will include the “Big 6,” viz. Pork-N-Beans, Tennessee Q, Howling Coyotes South West BBQ, Chicago BBQ Company, Cowley’s Barbecue & Rib Company, and Johnson’s Barbecue.
