Marauders hosting Marty’s Toy Drive

December 2, 2017 by

The Bradenton Marauders, the minor league baseball team for Bradenton, Florida, will be hosting its third annual toy drive later this month.

Marty’s Toy Drive, named after the Marauders team mascot, helps to collect toys for children who are waiting to be adopted, which are then donated and distributed by the Salvation Army for its Adopt a Family program. Last year alone, the Marauders managed to collect over 200 toys for children in need.

This year, the Marauders are offering plenty of incentives to donate. Those who attend the toy drive and donate a new, unwrapped toy will receive promotional products from the Marauders or the Pittsburgh Pirates, and will be entered into a raffle where they will have a chance to win four free tickets for a Pirates Spring Training Game. Along with these opportunities, complimentary breakfast and pictures with the team mascot, who will be dressed as ‘Marty Claus’, will also be available.

The general manager of the Marauders, Rachelle Madrigal, noted that the upcoming toy drive comes on the back of Black Friday, and hopes the community with be able to support it generously.

The toy drive will be taking place on December 16 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Pirate City in Bradenton. More information about the event can be found at the Bradenton Marauders website.
