Boca readies for Burger Battle

July 2, 2017 by

For the 6th time, local grills will be firing up for the annual Boca Burger Battle Competition in a few weeks.

Local top chefs will be grilling using secret recipes they have been concocting over the last year to impress the panel of Grill Master Judges.

Judges will include burger connoisseurs from Publix Aprons Cooking School, Burgers by the Beach, Weekend Boward, The Firefighter Foodie, and Our city’s Commissioner Robert W. Weinroth and BIG 1059’s Danny Rivera will also be judges. The panel will award the Beat Grill Master award and choose the Best Alternative Grill Master.

Event attendees will cast their wooden chip “votes” to decide the People’s Choice Award. The panel will then choose the Best of Boca Burger Champion. Local photographers will be taking pictures of the winner for next year’s Boca Raton visitor brochures and flyers.

The theme of this year’s gastric event will be ‘Backyard BBQ’, and it will offer more than beef and hamburger. There will be summer gourmet food items offered at many tasting stations. Summer brews will also be available.

PROPEL (People Reaching Out to Provide Education and Leadership) will benefit from some of the proceeds.

The event will be Saturday, July 15 in downtown Boca Raton in Sanborn Square Park which is near the intersection of Federal Highway and Palmetto Park Road. It will run from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
