Boca Raton out to Save the Glades

June 7, 2017 by

Save the Glades will be a benefit concert to raise money for the upkeep of our beautiful everglades ecosystem. All proceeds will go to help preserve and sustain the wetlands in our Everglades National Park.

Entertainment for the evening will be comprised of South Florida artists. Some performers will be Del Pelson, The Citadel, Tame the Lyons and Echo Charlie Hotel Oscar. Other artists on the agenda will include Folktale San Pedro and Humble Waters. Fans of these artists may want to purchase promotional products such as tee-shirts, visors and promotional drinkware from their websites before the event day to wear to show support.

The artist Serafima will be creating one of her masterpieces during the evening.

The Everglades are the United States largest subtropical wilderness and spans across 1.5 million acres in South Florida. This is half of its original size due to dredging for developments to house the state’s seven million people. Nutrient pollutants such as phosphorus and sulfur from agricultural fertilizers and biological ones such as exotic animals and plants are disrupting the ecosystem balance. Funding is needed to implement restoration plans and enforce laws to protect endangered species and the wetlands.

This event is scheduled for Saturday, July 1st from 7:00 pm until 1:00 am on Sunday, July 2nd at the Funky Buddha Lounge and Brewery, 2621 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton. Guests must be at least 18 years of age.
