The featured artist for the Arts Fest Community Art Exhibition this year will be the owner and director of the Furniture Institute of Massachusetts, located in Beverly, Philip C. Lowe. This announcement was recently made by Endicott College and Beverly Main Streets.

Arts Fest is held every year at Endicott College and one local artist is awarded the title of featured artist. Lowe was selected given his commitment and dedication to the arts for many years. He has operated a furniture restoration and building shop since 1985. His work can be seen in many museums throughout North America and has been purchased by those in the private sector.

The coordinator of visual arts at Endicott College, and member of the board of Beverly Main Streets, Kathleen Moore, commented that Lowe is a master period furniture maker and woodworker and he has contributed greatly to the creative economy of the City.

A reception will be held on Thursday, June 15 where Lowe will be recognized for his work. A local print company will most likely create the press materials and the gallery card for the exhibition at Endicott College that will highlight his work.

The Arts Fest will be held outdoors on Cabot Street from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, beginning on Saturday, June 17, and Lowe’s work will be on display at the Art Exhibition throughout the summer.
