Restaurant week kicks off in Bethlehem

Starting this weekend, over a dozen downtown restaurants will participate in the annual restaurant week event in Bethlehem. The restaurants participating vary between casual and upscale, offering something for everyone.

Billed as the tastiest week of winter, participating restaurants likely advertise their specials on flyers posted on entrance doors. Depending on the restaurant, the specials will take place during the lunch or dinner service.

For example, the Twisted Olive is featuring a $15 lunch consisting of three courses. The menu items include fish tacos, crab bisque, and a flavored cream pie. Other restaurants participating in lunch specials are Tapas on Main (where menu items include a grilled chicken wrap) and Bethlehem Brew Works (which features roast beef au jus along with beer, cheese soup, and a Caesar salad).

Evening specials can be found at Edge, which will serve an entrée of tempura soft shell shrimp, and at McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub and Whiskey Bar, which features cider mussels. Other restaurants participating include the Melting Pot, The Wooden Match, and Apollo Grill. Along the lines of cocktail themed restaurants is the Artisan Wine & Cheese Cellars and the Tap Room at Historic Hotel Bethlehem

With proceedings starting this Sunday, February 4, those wishing to dine at the establishments do not need to purchases passes or tickets, as reservations can be made by calling the restaurants. The week is presented by the downtown Bethlehem Association and participants can enter for a chance to win gift certificates.
