Internet to brick-and-mortar location for Greek Meat Guy

After success posting cooking videos, Nikos Malitsis has decided to open his own eatery in Bethlehem.

An inspired Malitsis decided to make his own cooking video after learning of a Turkish chef going viral with a lusty steak preparation video. Calling himself the ‘Greek Meat Guy’, he created his own videos where he prepared various proteins in an entertainingly flamboyant manner.

Although Malitsis’ videos have drawn only thousands of views compared to the Turkish chef’s millions, the Bethlehem resident has taken the next step. He has opened the Greek Meat Guy restaurant which specializes in affordable fast-casual Greek staples where George’s Light Lunch used to be at 129 East 3rd St. in Bethlehem.

Unlike many other Greek eateries, Malitsis focuses on his souvlaki, rather than the usual gyros. Souvlaki is Greek styled skewer grilled meat, and prices range from $2.50 through $6.50, while other choices are Greek sides, pita chips with hummus, and a Greek salad. Malitsis is open late on Friday and Saturday to catch the late-night bar crowd.

Malitsis has owned several restaurants in the past. This latest one had a soft opening and operates 11:00 am to 10:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 11:00 am to 3:00 am Friday to Saturday. Greek Meat Guy is not open on Sundays.

A grand opening in November will be held, for which flyers will likely be employed to help formally introduce Greek Meat Guy to Bethlehem.
