Homestead hosting yearly pre-Thanksgiving Dungeness Crab Feast

Homestead Restaurant will be holding its 4th Dungeness Crab Feast just in time for Thanksgiving.

Less than six miles from Berkeley, in Oakland, the Homestead Restaurant will offer friends a chance to celebrate being thankful a couple of days early before the official day of Thanksgiving with the usual crowd. Next Tuesday and Wednesday evenings (November 21 & 22) from 5:00 to 10:00 pm the restaurant will forego their regular menu in favor of their annual Crab Feast.

Crab lovers can enjoy a family style dinner for a cost of $65 per adult with a charge for children 10 and under of $32.50. Included with dinner will be a Winter Squash Salad with walnut vinaigrette and li’l gems lettuce, smashed potatoes, and for desert, Bitter Sweet Chocolate Mousse and whipped crème fraiche.

Homestead is taking prepaid orders in advance for pumpkin or pecan pie, and if they include premier business cards with their takeout orders, as many other high-end establishment do, this may help increase their sales.

Diners who need a pie to take to their family’s Thanksgiving feast, or for the Turkey Day they are hosting themselves, can order a pie to pick up while they are there on November 21 or 22. An 11-inch pumpkin pie sells for $30, while a pecan pie, fully loaded and containing 24 ounces of pecans, can be purchased for $50.
