Celebration of literature coming to Bay Area

May 11, 2017 by

The 3rd annual Bay Area Book Festival will be held in June in downtown Berkeley.

The event, sponsored by the Foundation for the Future of Literature and Literacy, is designed for readers and writers to meet and discuss their love of books.

Dozens of authors and exhibitors will be on hand throughout the event, and attendees are encouraged to mingle and stop by as many booths as possible. For those who love to read, this is a chance to meet their favorite author in person and join in discussions with others. Authors and exhibitors alike can benefit from the services of a local printing company to obtain any banners, brochures, flyers, and promotional products to hand out.

The Festival’s Opening Gala will be held on June 8 at 8:00 pm at the UC Berkeley’s memorial Stadium, University Club. Expecting to draw a large crowd, the event is available with advance ticket purchases only.

The family friendly events will have activities for young children, such as storytelling sessions on the Showtime Stage. Teens can participate in a variety of activities as well, including an open mic session that will allow the teens to express themselves through poetry and performance freely.

Lastly, a Family Fest Zone will also be available with several activities that will involve everyone, including craft making, science projects, robotics, mind games, and writing.

The Bay Area Book Festival will take place June 3 and 4 in Downtown Berkeley. Tickets are available online or at three box offices: The Freight & Salvage, Brower Center, or the Civic Center Park.
