Bend function will celebrate connection between kids and the environment

June 5, 2018 by

A new event that recognizes environmental efforts made by members of the community is on the agenda for Bend, and everyone is welcome to attend this special function.

The occasion, which has been dubbed ‘The Children’s Forest Awards Luncheon’, will celebrate those in central Oregon who foster connections between children and the natural world. There will be opportunities to network and share best practices, and the organizers noted that their goal is for it to become a biannual event.

Awards will be presented in a variety of categories, and the recipients will have been nominated by their fellow community members. These include awards for Innovation, Teacher of the Year, Inclusion, Environmental Educator of the Year, Outstanding Youth, and Children and Nature Supporter. The planners noted that they wish to thank the Mid-Oregon Credit Union and Brooks Resources for their support of this occasion.

Tickets to attend the luncheon are on offer for $30 each, and the function is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon. A printing services provider will be able to work with the organizers of this type of function to supply it with environmentally friendly promotional products.

This salute to those who work to ensure the state’s environmental legacy will be taking place on June 21 in Bend’s Aspen Hall. More information can be found on the organizer’s Facebook page.
