Bend area race will be for the birds

July 1, 2017 by

The Bend area is home to both the Oregon Observatory of Sunriver and the Sunriver Nature Center, and an event will soon be taking place that will give people a chance to show them their support in a tangible way.

Those who participate in the Run for the Birds 5 K or the 1k race for kids will be helping to raise funds that will be contributed to these two different public institutions. Each person who takes part will receive a special finisher’s medal, and the top 1st, 2nd and 3rd finishers in the men’s and women’s categories will receive a prize of a night’s stay at the Sunriver Resort.

The route for the race will allow the runners to take in views of Mt. Bachelor, as well as the meadows and wildlife that call it home. A post run celebration has also been planned for the participants, where they can socialize and keep the fun going. A printer can be called upon to create customized medals and other promotional products for a function such as this.

Race day for the Run for the Birds 5k has been set as July 22nd. It will be held in Sunriver, and more information, and also a chance to register to participate in the adult of children’s race can be found on its Regtorace listing.
