Time to rock in Bellingham

May 29, 2017 by

Local rock hounds who are interested in adding some new pieces to their collection may wish to mark their calendars for the upcoming Mt. Baker Rock and Gems Club ‘recycling’ sale in Bellingham.

The event will feature a huge assortment of both uncut and polished gems, stones, minerals, jewelry, rock hounding equipment, petrified wood, and fossils sourced from all over the world.

Numerous large tables will be filled with items to browse through, and the sale is open to everyone. A flyer printing company will be able to supply an assortment of promotional products for an event such as this.

Monies raised during this locally based fundraising event will be used to help fund the organization’s scholarship program. This initiative helps meet the cost of post-secondary education for an earth sciences student at Western Washington University. Admission will be free of charge, and there is also plenty of free parking. Members of the club will be on hand to answer questions from the public and assist them in selecting an item to purchase.

The Mt. Baker Rock and Gems Club sale has been planned for June 10 in Cloedel Donovam Park and Community Center, starting at 10:00 am. Anyone with questions has been asked to contact Bob Deurbrouck at 306-366-0121, or they can visit the event’s listing on Bellingham’s website for further details.
