Local farm holds annual Children’s Carnival

Calendars indicate that spring is just around the corner, and soon it will be time for the Queens County Farms Children’s Carnival.

Admission will be $15 and rides will be included, although there will be fees for some of the activities.

The event will offer carnival rides, each with a height requirement. Midway games will have various prices. There will also be children’s entertainment such as a seasonal petting zoo ($4), pony rides ($4), and a hayride ($3). Food vendors will be onsite throughout the day.

Once everyone has enjoyed the carnival in the venue’s apple orchard, families may enjoy going through the site’s old farm buildings, the greenhouse complex, herb garden, and planting fields. Guests can also view the farm implements vehicles and livestock. Kids may get a kick out of purchasing feed and feeding the goat kids.

Although the New York Department of Parks owns the farm, The Colonial Farmhouse Restoration Society of Bellerose, Inc. operates it so we will be supporting one of our local organizations.

The event will be in the Queens County Farm’s apple orchard on Saturdays April 1 and 8, and Sundays April 2 and 9. Queens County Farm Museum is located at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park. Gates will open at 11:00 am and close at 6:00 pm. Parking will be free and an ATM will be available.
