Cross Island YMCA touches the truck once again

September 9, 2017 by

This Touch-A-Truck and Fall Family Festival will be fixture on Bellerose calendars for September.

The event will allow local children to explore vehicles and working trucks. Event organizers are expecting between 1,000 and 1,500 people to attend.

Some trucks that the little ones will be able to climb into will be police cars, monster wheels, fire trucks, dump trucks, tow trucks, and ambulances. There will also be an Emblem Health RV, Con Ed Cable Truck, NYCB Bucket truck, a garbage truck, and a US Army Humvee. Many kids will really enjoy the Game truck.

Admission wristbands will also allow them to get their faces painted, jump in the inflatables and bounces houses and receive balloon animals. They will also get to enjoy DJ music, magicians, clowns, and special kid-type performances.

Guests can pick and paint their own pumpkins, conduct arts and crafts at special stations, and participate in activity stations. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Parents can enter raffles and take a tour through the YMCA, and many family-friendly vendors will be on site.

Pre-sale discount bracelets are $5, and tickets at the door will cost $10 a piece. Proceeds go to the YMCA scholarship fund.

Taking place on Saturday, September 23, the festival will run rain or shine from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm at the Cross Island YMCA, 238-10 Hillside Ave, Bellerose.
