Bellerose families head for the farm

February 10, 2018 by

Many families in Bellerose will be on their way to Queens County Farm for something to do over the February and March doldrums.

Little ones can enjoy Farmy Flicks, a farm-themed movie in the barn. The movie will be ‘Maya the Bee’, and everyone is invited to purchase popcorn and view the farm animals before it starts.

A Family Farm Crafts session will be geared to kids from four to ten years old. Participants will be using supplies found in nature. Farm-themed stories will be related throughout the afternoon.

In March, the farm will be having a free Stop’N’Swap, where everyone is invited to bring reusable clean items such as games, toys, books, electronics, clothing, and housewares, and swap them for items they can use.

The March event for the children will be the Barnyard Egg Hunt. Whiskers the Bunny will be available for photo ops, where pictures may be taken that will make memorable additions to family calendars and next year’s holiday cards. There will be a petting zoo, pony rides, and food vendors.

Queens County Farm is located at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck, Queens. The Farmy Flick will be February 21 at 2:00 pm, and the Family Farm Craft session will be February 22 from noon until 3:00 pm, and the Stop’N’Swap will be Saturday, March 24 from noon until 3:00 pm. The Easter Egg hunt closes the proceedings on March 31 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.
