Water management in Louisiana to be addressed at conference

October 22, 2017 by

The Pennington Conference Center in Baton Rouge will be the host of the annual conference of the Environment and Health Council (E&HCL) of Louisiana next month. Water management and how it connects to the state will be the focus of this year’s conference.

Guest speakers at the conference this year will be chief meteorologist from WAFB, Jay Grimes; Dr. Jimmy Guidry, State Health Officer and Medical Director of the Louisiana Department of Health; and president and CEO of the Water Institute of the Gulf, Justin Ehrenwerth.

Also speaking at the conference are representatives from Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, Greater New Orleans, Inc., and the Louisiana State University College of Engineering.

The E&HCL holds a conference every year to support its mission to provide discussions based on health issues related to the environmental and economic wellbeing the state. Since the floods in August 2016, it has decided that water management should be a significant topic. The conference enables the exchange of information on urgent water management topics that are of interest to all members of the community.

The conference will be held on November 2, beginning at 8:30 am and running until 2:00 pm.

Brochure printing companies can be used by organizations such as the E&HCL to print brochures with more information about sessions and schedules of guest speaker talks.
