Upcoming fundraisers supports local attractions

There are two fundraising events taking place in Baton Rouge next month that will ensure the continuation of a pair of popular cultural attractions.

The first event will be the Halloween Opera Ball, which will benefit Opera Louisiana. Guests will enjoy food and drink, musical entertainment, and dancing. They will also have the chance to bid on a silent auction. Since the theme of the event is Halloween, many guests will likely come in costume.

A few days later, the 17th annual Old Governor’s Mansion Gala will take place. Presented by the Foundation for Historical Louisiana, this event has been named the “best gala in the city”, according to promoters. The theme for this year is ‘Cajun Louisiana: 250 Years of Acadians in Louisiana’. There will be a VIP preview party and cocktail reception followed by the gala.

Baton Rouge stationery printers often provide invitations for events like these, which will be mailed out to residents.

The Halloween Opera Ball will be held at the City Club of Baton Rouge on October 23 from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets are $150 each or $275 for two. Call 225-377-2029 to find out more.

The Old Governor’s Mansion Gala will take place at the mansion on October 29 from 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm. To find out more about this event, such as the price of tickets, call 225-387-2464.
