Baton Rouge holiday shoppers get early festive opportunity

The holiday season is just about on us here in Baton Rouge, and soon it will be time for the annual Mistletoe Market.

As in the last 16 markets over the years, this will be a chance to get Christmas shopping done early in a child-friendly atmosphere, and contribute to a local charity at the same time. This year, some of the admission proceeds will be donated to Dreams Come True of Louisiana.

More than120 vendors will be at the market selling everything from boutique items, to chef-prepared food, to hand-made crafts. With more than 6,000 shoppers expected to attend, they can enjoy Holiday Fried Pecans at Booth 94, Most Delightful Food at Booth 53, and Truly Scrumptious Candies at Booth 93.

Everyone can get their face painted at Animated Art Face Painting, or rummage around in boutiques such as Posh Petites (kids’ clothing) and Brooklynn’s Boutique, and resale shops such as Ollie-Oop and The Purple Cow. If health, fitness, and beauty presents are on the shopping list, there will be vendors such as It Works, Younique Products, Nerium International ,and LeTerre.

Early bird shoppers can take advantage of the first ‘Mistletoe in the Morning VIP Shopping Experience’ which will take place two hours before the event opens for the general public on the first day. VIP ticket holders will get free parking close to the market, complimentary orange juice, treats, and sweets. They will also receive 20% discounts at selected retailers. Baton Rouge Moms will be having photo fun activities, so resulting photos might make good subjects for this year’s holiday cards.
