Baton Rouge becomes home to new discount retailer

A discount retailer of name brand inventory will be moving into the Capital Region of Louisiana.

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, recently signed a lease for a space in Gonzales measuring 28,000 square feet in size. The store is expected to open in the first quarter of 2019.

There are two other stores in Bossier and Deridder that are under construction and will open before the store in Gonzales does.

Additional locations in the Parish of East Baton Rouge are being explored by the chain, with plans to expand in the area within the next year and a half. Donnie Jarreau, a real estate broker working with Ollie’s, said that negotiations are currently underway for leasing two properties in East Baton Rouge.

Vice President for Real Estate of Ollie’s, Jerry Altland, commented that as the chain has settled into Mississippi, the next best state for growth is Louisiana, given its adjacency to Mississippi. He added that the chain is resisting trends in the market to close its brick-and-mortar stores, as the company buys name products and sells them at discounts of up to 70%.

Print shops can be used to create various kinds of printed material that can promote such stores and the value they provide for their customers, as well as announcing their future plans.
