Fake-A-Palooza comes to Bakersfield

August 1, 2017 by

For the third time in as many years, 98.5 the Fox will be presenting Fake-A-Palooza. This will be a celebration of live tribute bands covering classic bands and artists. This year, the event will feature four bands.

Jumping Jack Flash will be paying tribute to the Rolling Stones. Joey Jagger Infante will take on the role of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards will be portrayed by Young Hutchison, and Pat Hennessey will be playing Brian Jones’ and Ron Wood’s famous rhythm guitar riffs, while Matt Quitter will be on bass and Jon McCracken on drums.

Generation Idol will be paying homage to Billy Idol. The guys will be playing classics such as ‘Money, Money’, ‘Rebel Yell’, and ‘Hot in the City’.

The Who Show, as its name implies, will be honoring The Who. With France di Carlo as Keith Moon, Pete Townshend portrayed by Chris Propper, Jim K as John Entwistle, and Roger Daltrey played by Mike Harris, the group will bring back ‘Pinball Wizard’, ‘You Better, You Bet’, and ‘Behind Blue Eyes’.

Bakersfield’s own group, the Aviators, will be the special guest artists for the evening.

Fans of these original bands may wish to dig out their old memorabilia, such as T-shirts, promotional drinkware, and other promotional products, and wear or bring them to the show.

The event will be Saturday, August 26 at the Spectrum Amphitheater, 11200 Stockdale Highway, Bakersfield, starting at 5:00 pm and winding down around 10:00 pm
