Bakersfield parties at Village Fest

In a few days, Village Fest will be celebrating in its 23rd anniversary with 15 live bands, food samples from 30 local popular restaurants, over 100 sampling options from 60 breweries, and 70 or more wines from 25 Central Coast Wineries.

The 16-acre venue will have six areas, each with a different theme. One example is Kahunaville entrance, which will have the Pan-o-Rama Steel Drum Band. Its stage will have Mary G and Snacks as emcees and will feature Bar Room Riot, Dub Seeds, and Stoneflys.

Carla Barrientos will be the emcee for the Vino Valley stage and it will have The Lawanda Smith Quartet, Mr. Trimble & Unique Soul, and Karma Ruby. Other areas will be the Microblues, Craft Brew, and The Village.

One area, only open to event sponsors, will be the VIP area, which will feature Tony O’Brien & Wilson Mackey. Fans of these music groups will no doubt be checking with them to see if they have any promotional products for sale.

Each admission ticket will include unlimited samples from the restaurants. Some that will be participating will be Buck Owen’s Chrystal Palace, Mr. Clamato, and Frugatti’s Italian Eatery. The tickets also provide 15 drink samples.

C.A.R.E.and the Kern County Museum will receive some of the profits from the Village Fest, which will be at the Kern County Museum, 3801 Chester Ave, Bakersfield from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Saturday, September 9.
