Unique gala will raise funds for SPCA

The 7th annual Peninsula SPCA Fur Ball Gala Fundraiser is taking place in Hampton this February. This year’s goal is to raise $175,000 for the organization; money raised will go to support homeless and neglected animals in the area.

This unique gala allows owners to bring their pets with them and have them take part in the red carpet Pet Parade. There will also be dancing, dining and a cocktail reception featuring the “Muttini Bar”; guests can choose in advance between three meals including a vegetarian one. Musical entertainment is set to be provided throughout the night by The Strolling Silver Strings and the Tidewater Drive Band. In addition, there will be a silent and a live auction hosted by G. Amory LeCuyer; prizes will likely include travel and entertainment packages.

Local businesses and individuals from Hampton or nearby communities such as Virginia Beach are encouraged to donate items for both of the auctions. For charity and fundraising events such as these local print companies are often called upon by organizers to provide items such as tickets, invitations and flyer printing. The flyers are then distributed throughout the community by various means to help spread the word.

The Peninsula SPCA Fur Ball Gala Fundraiser is taking place at the Hampton Roads Convention Centre on February 1 from 6:00 – 11:00 PM. Tickets are $125 per person or $75 per pet. To find out more about this annual event, call 757-315-1610.
