February 24, 2013 by

The Attucks Theatre is inviting guests to come out and enjoy the amazing sounds of Paul Thorn, part of the Discover Music Series, for an evening of fantastic music.

Thorn has had a fabulous musical career following the successful release of 2010’s ‘Pimps and Preachers’ and his music is enjoyed by a large following of fans. Compared to the renowned John Prine, John Hiatt, and other critically acclaimed songwriters and singers, it is likely that local brochure printers have used to publicize his arrival.

The release of ‘What the Hell is Going On’ finds Thorn putting his own unique signature on some of his most loved songs. Some of the names that are familiar to people from this album include Wild Bill Emerson, Foy Vance, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and Buddy Miller. During this performance, a few surprise songs will be played that are believed to have come from other groups, but that will be instantly recognized.

The covers for Thorns’s albums stemmed from tunes he encountered and that meant something special to him. Thorn writes all his tunes from the heart and the audience will find themselves falling in love with his unique songs and lyrics. His songs have depth and soul and will appeal to the audience.

The cost is $19 per person and everyone is invited to come out and enjoy this fine performer. Paul Thorn will be appearing live on Saturday, March 2nd starting at 8:00 pm at the Attucks Theatre in Norfolk, Virginia. To purchase tickets, please visit the Attucks Theatre website or call the box office during normal business hours.
