ArtSpace Herndon calls for portrait art for contest

August 17, 2017 by

ArtSpace Herndon, as part of its mission to show the work of emerging artists, has called for entries to its 9th Annual Expression Portrait Competition.

The contest is open to artists aged 18 or older who reside in Delaware, West Virginia, the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland.

Works that adhere to the traditional portraiture definition will be given preference, but both 2D and 3D portraits will be accepted.

Judges will select finalists from the submissions, and their work will be displayed in the gallery during the month of October. A rewards reception will be held on October 14, when the competition winners will be announced. The exhibit will continue from October 3 to October 28.

During exhibits and performances, many galleries, halls, and clubs use brochure printing or booklet printing to offer information about the various artists on display or performing. These items can also include information about how to contact the individual artists after the show is complete.

ArtSpace Herndon is located on Center Street in Herndon, and is a public charity. It was formed from a merger of the Council for the Arts of Herndon and the Herndon Foundation for the Cultural Arts. Submissions for the Expression Portrait Competition close on September 6. For full contest requirements and guidelines, or to submit an entry form to the contest, go to the ArtSpace Herndon website.
