Two Arlington events to raise funds for local children this June

Going to camp during the summer is one of the things many children take for granted, but an upcoming event is addressing the fact that not all of them can afford to.

The Silent Auction Social taking place in Arlington this June will help raise funds for Camp Jamison. Money raised will allow the camp, which will be running from July 15-19, to remain affordable to most children.

In addition to bidding on items like travel packages, guests will be able to take part raffles for hot air balloons and enjoy appetizers and drinks.

One other Arlington event taking place even sooner is the Striving for Excellence fundraising dinner for Washington International Academy. Funds raised will go towards building a library and upgrading school computers. There will be several guest speakers as well.

It’s probable that organizers of both events will ensure their events run smoothly by investing in services like ticket printing provided by Arlington printing companies.

The Striving for Excellence dinner will take place at the Washington International Academy this Saturday, June 1, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Tickets are $50 each, $30 for students, and $90 for a couple; tables of ten are $1,000. Babysitting is also available for $5. For more information call 703-941-6977.

The Camp Jamison’s Silent Auction Social will take place at the Pentagon MMA on June 8 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. For more information, visit the website.
