The Opportunity Works Networking Rally will take place at Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company on June 5th from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. This is a free event open to Opportunity Works volunteers and their guests.

Opportunity Works is a fund raising campaign of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce which runs for approximately three months; the program raises one third of the Chamber’s operating budget. This year, the fundraising goal is $260,000; last year’s program raised $256,801. Volunteers for Opportunity Works also help other local businesses grow through Chamber memberships, sponsorships, and advertising aimed at potential new members.

The Networking Rally will not only allow Opportunity Works volunteers to learn how to get people to join the Chamber; basically they will find out how to get the most benefit out of the program. The networking rally will also allow volunteers the chance to get to know one another better and to pool their resources to figure out where to go next. A business card will definitely be a necessity to bring to this meeting. Arlington printing companies which provide business card printing services can supply as many cards as are needed for a reasonable price.

Chambers of Commerce are extremely important to business. They not only provide networking opportunities but offer members a wide variety of educational seminars and programs, discounts on such products as insurance, and numerous social events throughout the year. Chamber of Commerce also raise a lot of money for local charities through a variety of events.
