Holiday gift-buying season starts at local craft shows

The holiday season is quickly coming around and many people are starting to think about what kinds of gifts to buy for their friends and family. Thankfully, there are a couple of craft shows taking place in early November that will help make those decisions of what to buy easier.

The 8th annual Dominion Hills Craft Show will take place at Dominion Hills Community House on November 5 from 10:00 am – 5:00 m. The show will feature 12 local and regional artisans selling handcrafted items, such as paintings, prints, jewelry, and handbags. Light refreshments will also be served and, as an added bonus, the event is free to attend. For more information, call 703-533-7550.

Later in November, the 20th annual Lyon Park ‘Not-just-a-craft Fair’ will take place at the Lyon Park Community Center on November 19 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. There will be plenty of events taking place at the fair and, in addition to handmade and original crafts, there will be baked goods for sale, a farmers’ market, and adoptions of Alaskan Malamute dogs. Lunch will also be served from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm and there is no charge to attend this one either. Call 703-527-9520 to find out more.

No doubt the organizers of both craft shows will be working with Arlington printing companies to get word out about the upcoming events. Flyer printing services would provide a flyer that can be delivered to every household in the community.
