Have some art with your Fourth of July celebrations

The Arlington July 4th celebrations will take place at Long Bridge Park from noon until 10:00 PM. This free event will conclude with a view of the Washington, D.C. fireworks extravaganza.

The celebrations will feature musical entertainment, food, children’s activities such as face painting and bounce houses, a bicycle parade, a YMCA obstacle course and an arts and crafts market. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to watch the fireworks in Washington, D.C.

The arts and crafts market will take place from noon until 5:00 PM and will feature handcrafted items, vintage items, photography and a wide variety of art such as prints and paintings. Vendors are also encouraged to include patriotic and Independence Day-related items in their merchandise. Vendors can rent a 10×10 space, two chairs and a table for $50; they must provide their own tents. Food vendors are limited to street and truck vendors; they can rent a 20×20 space for $50.

Arlington printing companies will most likely be providing the organizers of the celebration with banner printing services. Banners will help to add to the festive atmosphere and will also help to point out the various areas and events taking place throughout the day.

The Fourth of July is the time for everyone to get out and to celebrate independence and the history of the United States. It will be the perfect family friendly day out for those from Arlington and surrounding communities.
