Business hopefuls to pitch ideas and raise money for charity

November 29, 2012 by

Having a new idea for business can be a frustrating experience, with many potential entrepreneurs struggling to get their ideas off the ground. Thankfully, one event taking place in Arlington tomorrow can help to expose ideas to investors, venture capitalists, other entrepreneurs, and the general public.

StartupVA’s Pitch for Charity allows new business owners the chance to bring their ideas to the forefront and pitch them with those who can help them get established. Twenty companies or individuals will have the chance to deliver a one-minute pitch for their business in front of a panel of experts, who will then give their comments on the pitch and how effective it is. The winner will receive a donation to the charity of his or her choice, office space at Uberoffices for three months, a Microsoft Windows Phone, mentor sessions with Aneesh Chopra, Donna Harris and Jonathan Aberman, and various gift cards.

Those attending, either to pitch their ideas or to just simply to the ideas, will no doubt want to bring a good supply of business cards. Many will no doubt place a new business card printing order with Arlington printing companies to make sure they have enough cards on hand, as it promises to be an excellent networking opportunity.

StartupVA Pitch for Charity 2012 will take place at Arlington Economic Development tomorrow, November 30, beginning at 11:00 am. Admission is free and lunch will be served. For more information, call 703-228-0808.
